Thirty years ago, Eric Sikujua Ng’maryo founded the law firm of Eric S. Ng’maryo Advocates (the Firm). Eric graduated from the University of Dar es Salaam with a first class honours degree and from there set up the first large law partnership in Tanzania (Law Partners and Associates Advocates). He has been involved in a wide array of businesses including sugar, cocoa and coffee. A published poet and writer, Eric Ng’maryo is now a Consultant in the Firm and has indicated his desire to retire from legal work except for a few select cases per year. He is now spending most of his time in horticulture and writing.
Since its inception, the Firm has been a small set up with intensely focused attention and selective in its clientele. When necessary, the Firm has joined in virtual partnerships in which required advocates and law firms have been approached to associate for a specific business or court brief that would lapse when the task in hand is done.
